Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary responsibilities include engineering analysis, walkdowns, design development and generation of design output documents for the following types of systems/facilities: intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, fiber optic cable, force protection, perimeter security, alarm monitoring, control stations, and entry control facilities.
Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.
A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering. Will consider five (5) years of related design experience (in addition to the required seven years of Safeguards and Security design experience) as equivalent to the education or registration requirements.
Experience in 2D Microstation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) is required.
Candidate must have the ability to walk down systems in the field.
A DOE "L" security clearance will be required for this position. Preference will be given to qualified candidate(s) who currently possess an active DOE (L or Q) clearance and to qualified candidate(s) who have previously held a DOE clearance within the past five (5) years. After award, previously cleared candidates will be given the opportunity to reapply for a DOE clearance.
Previous experience with the Electronic Safeguards and Security System (E3S) and Argus is preferred.
