Participates in departmental on-the-job training/cross training
Safely operates forklifts, pallet jacks, scales, packaging wrapper, building tools or other assigned equipment according to proper operation manuals, rules and procedures
Ensures proper marking and labeling of inbound and outbound shipments as well as product moving into stock and warehouse locations
Knowledge of shipping, receiving and storing of hazardous materials
Responsible for the accuracy of serial number items moving in and out of the shipping, receiving and other assigned storage locations
Maintains system accuracy and physical movement of government furnished material (GFM).
Accurately accounts for inbound product movement through the receiving area as well as finished goods movement outbound to its final destination
Maintains 5S practices in the storage of materials
Follows all transportation guidelines as instructed
Maintains applicable shipping, receiving and material movement records.
Ensures timely movement of parts and materials throughout the facility
Understands the proper use of electronic material scanners
High school diploma (GED) with at least three to five years related experience
Ability to read and communicate simple to semi-complex instructions
Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with other associates within the organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of money, weight measurement, volume and distance.
Experience with (preferred) or demonstrates the capability of handling various forklifts and maneuver this equipment in close quarters
Experience using computer software and associated hardware
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or fell; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions and work in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Speaks clearly and persuasively. Listens and gets clarification; participates in meetings. Writes clearly and informatively; able to read and interpret written information. Follows policies and procedures; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness. Meets productivity standards. Observes safety and security procedures. Adapts to changes in the work environment.
