Our OSB Mill in Englehart, ON is seeking a Shift Leader to lead a production team in the safe and successful achievement of production targets.
A Day In The Life General Tasks: To lead an operational team in the production of world-class products in a safe and efficient manner. To promote employee involvement; providing coaching, feedback and direction as required. To troubleshoot and resolve production issues, provide safety training to production associates, team development, and delivering training materials in a meaningful approach. To complete all paperwork and analysis in a timely and efficient manner. To monitor product quality and contribute to the overall direction and success.
What You Will Need:
Basic Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree with a preference in a technical or business discipline preferred. A minimum of 2 years supervisor experience in an industrial, manufacturingor military environment. Must have a solid working knowledge of MS Word(creating, editing, formatting documents, preparing reports and tables)and Excel (creating, modifying spreadsheets, using functions, filters, and graphs to analyze data). Must be able and willing to work anassigned shift schedule, which may include day, night, weekend and holiday work hours. Shift schedule might change during employment. Experience coaching, counseling and developing employees. Facilitate team development and communication, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolution, and building employee commitment and ownership. Hold employees accountable, anddrive cultural change in which employees understand empowerment and accept responsibilities. Team size may range from 10 – 30 members Must make working safely the top priority, including wearing and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and enforcing safe work practices. Must be able and willing to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including extended periods of time in noisy, non-air conditioned or unheated areas.
